A new name has appeared among luxury brands that create ultra expensive cell phones. Tag Heuer handset produced by the famous watch company will certainly represent an intense competition for the Vertu and Prada cell phones. The stylish gadget that corresponds to all technical and image achievements of Swiss company Tag Heuer bears an exotic name Meridiist.
The model that will come up for sale later this year does not remind of the look of traditional handsets produced by the luxury brands.
There is no gold, platinum and diamonds there - only stainless steel and natural leather that are usually used by Tag Heuer craftsmen to create innovative chronographs and ultra-fashionable water-resistant watches.
The design of the new Tag Heuer handset will certainly be to the liking of those who like practicality and modest attractiveness and do not like floridity. Tag Heuer has created its cell phone together with ModeLabs, the French designer's company that also made famous Hummer and Levi's phones.
But there is anything special in the cell phone if speaking about technical specs. But on the other hand Meridiist is first of all a fashion handset. The consumers will get a 2.0 Megapixel camera, a secondary 96 x 76 pixels OLED screen, positioned at the top of the handset, Multimedia player with support for MP3, AAC and MPEG-4 and Bluetooth.
There's no doubt the company is not going to produce its new handset as a mass-market product. It is not known yet in what number they are going to produce their handsets but they are certainly meant for the chosen ones. At least the price for Tag Heuer restricts the circle of potential buyers as it comprises 5000-6000 dollars.
